Local Arkansas presents photo contest

For the month of November, Local Arkansas is going au naturel with the Natural Arkansas November photography contest. The month-long competition will culminate with a contest wrap-up party on Saturday, Dec. 2, beginning at 2 p.m.

To participate, snap a photo of yourself enjoying Arkansas’ natural resources and post it to Instagram with the hashtags #naturalARNovember and #discoverLocalAR. To be eligible, include the name and/or coordinates of the place where the image was captured, then tag @LocalAR and @SpaCityCycling and follow both pages.

The winner will receive an Outdoor Enthusiast Gift Package valued at over $2,000 with a Orbea MX Max 29er mountain bike courtesy of Spa City Cycling; a bicycle rental or lake tour courtesy of Ouachita Kayak Tours; a Bike Hot Springs jersey and hat courtesy of Visit Hot Springs/Bike Hot Springs and more. The winner will be selected by a panel of some of Arkansas’ favorite outdoor enthusiasts.

“This is a great time of year to be outside in Arkansas and we just want to encourage people to enjoy the state’s many natural resources and, as always, to shop local whenever they can,” said Marisa Rodgers, Program Director of Local Arkansas.

Local Arkansas promotes and encourages local commerce in the Natural State. With the Local Arkansas rewards card, customers receive discounts and incentives at an array of locally-owned businesses throughout the state. Participating businesses, meanwhile, receive added exposure via print and digital media, social marketing and special events.

The Natural Arkansas November photography contest is open to all Local Cardholders. Local Cards are available online for $15. For a complete list of participating businesses or to buy a Local Card, visit www.mylocalar.com on the Web.

“The card quickly pays for itself with just a few uses, thanks to the generous discounts and incentives offered by our Local business members,” Rodgers said.

The Natural Arkansas November photography contest is presented by Local Arkansas in conjunction with its nonprofit partner Local First Arkansas and Local members Spa City Cycling and Ouachita Kayak Tours. The winner will be announced on Saturday Dec. 2 at the contest wrap-up party which will include a slow roll, local food and beer and live music. Event details to be announced.
