An interesting note, 10 years ago this month, the architectural firm made up of urban designers, Ron Sakal and Sally Hood, who created the Master Plan for the Conway Downtown Partnership returned with the University of Notre Dame School of Architecture’s, Center for Building Communities.
The CBC was made up of fourth- and fifth-year architecture students and faculty members. The group was tasked with taking a look at downtown Conway and provide input as to how to connect downtown Conway with the surrounding neighborhoods, through infill single-family homes, mixed-use developments and a community marketplace with hotel and convention center, arts center and community center. Today, many of the projects that were highlighted have come to fruition.
