Softball team participates in buddy walk

Greenbrier’s Lady Panther Softball Team recently committed their time to a worthy cause.

The softball team traveled to Archery Fork Park Clinton, Arkansas Oct. 14 and volunteered at the sixth annual Clinton Buddy Walk.

The group helped with games and served hot-dogs to all participants, according to the district site.

The Clinton Buddy Walk, a family-fun event, celebrates people with Down Syndrome and raises money which is donated to several local organizations in support of that.

The organization was created in 2012 by two mothers — Randi Newland and Kristen Fish — whose children had Down Syndrome, with a goal of promoting awareness, understanding and acceptance while bringing families and the community together, according to the Clinton Buddy Walk website.
