UCA nursing students treat teddy bears

St. Joseph Elementary School students took part in a Teddy Bear Clinic on April 27.

The event was conducted by students from the nursing department at the University of Central Arkansas.

“Using play therapy, the nursing students admit stuffed animals to their hospital where the children describe their patients’s mock illnesses,” a news release stated. “After undergoing a battery of tests, each pet is often given a diagnosis of ‘tickelitis’ and a prescription is written for three hugs and kisses per day.”
