CPD asks public’s help identifying theft suspects

The Conway Police Department is seeking the pubic’s help identifying two theft suspects.

Police say two people are suspected in a vehicle theft that occurred Sept. 16 in the shopping center parking lot at 244 Oak Street.

Spokesman LaTresha Woodruff said the victim left her 2014 GMC Sierra (LPN 577 SZM) running while she went inside one of the stores to find her truck had been stolen when she attempted to leave the area.

“A woman left her truck running with keys inside while she went into the business,” Woodruff said.

Anyone with information on the vehicle’s whereabouts or who recognizes the two captured on surveillance footage is asked to contact Detective Bradley Fornash at 501-450-6130. Tipsters can also remain anonymous by sending information to CRIMES (274-637) using the keyword “Conway” in the message.

“Thanks in advance for your help,” Woodruff said.

Woodruff also cautioned the community to take precautions to help avoid vehicle thefts.

“While no one has the right to take your property, there are ways you can lessen your chances of becoming a victim of a vehicle theft,” she said. “Don’t leave your car running or keys inside. It only takes seconds for someone to steal your vehicle. You should also double check to make sure your doors are locked at all times.”
