“The computer at IP address 192.184.110.146 was reportedly sharing [three] files of investigative interest,” according to a probable cause affidavit.

A warrant to search the computer was issued Feb. 17, according to the affidavit. While on scene, Coppock admitted to investigators he downloaded child porn from the internet.

“During his statement, Jason Coppock admitted to using uTorrent software to search for and download images and videos depicting children involved in sexual activity,” the affidavit reads. “Jason Coppock stated that he viewed the downloaded files and later delete[d] them.”

Coppock said he used his personal computer to download the files and that there were more files at the Mayflower residence on flash drives.

“Jason Coppock stated he had other hard drives located in the residence, which he previously used for searching and downloading matter depicting children involved in sexual activity,” the affidavit stated.

The special agent seized the laptop for further examination.

He was able to find “evidence of previously existing files with names consistent with those seen in child sexual exploitation investigations.”

The agent also found “a number of shortcut files” that also showed suspicious names consistent with those seen in child exploitation investigations.

Coppock, who faces 30 counts of distributing, possessing or viewing matter depicting child sex, is set to appear in Faulkner County Circuit Court at 9 a.m. May 22 for a plea and arraignment.
