Bethlehem House plans Empty Bowls events

A crowd gathers to support Bethlehem House, Conway’s homeless shelter, during an Empty Bowls benefit for the homeless. The shelter is now seeking churches and other faith-based organizations throughout Faulkner County to host an Empty Bowls event with soup or chili suppers. Bethlehem House is calling on churches and other faith-based organizations throughout Faulkner County to host Empty Bowls events to benefit the homeless.

“By joining forces with area wide churches and other faith-based organizations, we can serve more needy families and children especially during the holiday season,” Executive Director Judi Lively said. “These events are fun to attend and will allow us to get to know the local churches on a deeper level.”

Any proceeds raised through Empty Bowls events will go toward the food pantry, daily soup kitchen and other aides for residents living in the transitional shelter.

“By having multiple events throughout the community, we hope to raise awareness of our mission and be able to continue to provide programs that offer a hand up to our neighbors,” Director of Development Aimee Prince said.

Any church or group interested in hosting an Empty Bowls event should contact Prince at 501-472-4897 or aimee@bethlehemhouse.net for more information.
