Renewal Ranch raises $17,000

More than 600 people attended the eighth annual Renewal Ranch chili cook off and silent auction, which raised more than $17,000.

Renewal Ranch raised more than $17,000 during its eighth annual chili cook off and silent auction fundraiser.

“This was a community-wide event and our most successful year yet,” spokesman Bryce McGhee said. “We had over 600 people in attendance and raised over $17,000. Thanks to everyone who attended or supported in some way.”

The ministry-based nonprofit helps men with substance abuse problems in Conway and the surrounding areas. Around 20 men per month apply for the program.

“We at Renewal Ranch are bringing awareness to the devastating effects of drug and alcohol addiction,” McGhee said. “Our passion is to break the chains of addiction through a relationship with Jesus Christ.”

Its operational costs are paid with donations and fundraisers, such as the chili cook off.

The organization had a $1.5 million capital campaign to build a Restoration Center with a large chapel, dining and teaching spaces.

Renewal Ranch will have its Christmas event in the Restoration Center, where former Gov. Mike Huckabee will be the guest speaker.
