DAR celebrates Constitution Week

Faulkner County Judge Jim Baker stands with members of the Cadron Post chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) Kimberly Jones, Nikki Reid, Judy McKnight, Lorraine Belote, Mary Mosley and Carol Rolf.

The Cadron Post chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) will celebrate Constitution Week with exhibits at libraries and the county fair.

“The weeklong commemoration of America’s most important document is one of our country’s least known official observances,” said Carol Rolf, co-chairman of the Cadron Post chapter’s Constitution Week committee. “Sept. 17, 2017, marks the 230th anniversary of the signing of the United States Constitution, the foundation of our government.”

Constitution Week is Sept. 17-23, during which time DAR will have exhibits in the Faulkner County Library in Conway as well as the branches in Greenbrier, Mayflower and Vilonia. They will also have a display at the Faulkner County Fair.

Faulkner County Judge Jim Baker, Conway Mayor Bart Castleberry, Greenbrier Mayor Sammy Hartwick, Mayflower Mayor Randy Holland and Vilonia Mayor James Firestone all signed proclamations declaring the observance of Constitution Week.
