Woolly Hollow sets family fun day

While schools around the state are letting out for summer vacation, Woolly Hollow State Park is getting ready for its annual Fun Day on Thursday, June 8, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

“Spend an afternoon filled with games and contests including sack races, watermelon seed spitting, bubble gum blowing and wheelbarrow races to name just a few,” said Park Interpreter Margaret Ellis in a news release.

Free swimming and paddleboating will be offered between noon and 7 p.m.

“Woolly Hollow State Park has been in your backyard since 1972 and has continued a tradition of being a family-friendly environment with over 3 miles of hiking trails, a beach and a competitive mountain bike trail,” Ellis said.

Park programming will be offered throughout the weekend: you can view the activities online at Arkansasstateparks.com

“Join us at Woolly Hollow to make some wonderful memories,” Ellis said. “We look forward to seeing you there.”
