State approves Faulkner County street improvements

Faulkner County roads will see more than $500,000 in improvements after the Arkansas State Highway Commission approved a bid for the work March 10.

Rogers Group, Inc. of Nashville was awarded the $514,402.82 contract, Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department (AHTD) spokesman Danny Straessle said in a news release.

In Damascus, 2.2 miles of city streets — including Oak Tree Road, North Road, Firestation Street, Carrell Circle, Lewis Drive and Payne Street — will be resurfaced as part of the project.

Nearly 2 miles of city streets in Greenbrier will be resurfaced including Wilson Farm Road, Mitchell Circle, Mallori Lane and Briarwood Street.

In Guy, 2.2 miles of city streets — including Post Office Drive, West Church Street, Oak Lane, Pine Street, Noland Little Road, Belle Drive and South Bolden Hill Road — will be resurfaced.

“Construction is scheduled to begin in two to four weeks, weather permitting,” Straessle said. “Completion is expected in mid-2017.”
