However, it moved to a larger space on Oak Street across from Kroger.

“We’ve been down the street and Conway has been great to us,” Owner Douglas Braswell said. “We needed more space and more parking, so we moved to this new location.”

Braswell said the store mainly deals with jewelry, but has also acquired handbags.

“We have lot of great deals on what we call ‘vintage luxury,’” he said. “We also do advances on those same kind of items, as well.”

Braswell and Son, which has two locations in Little Rock, has been in business since 1979.

“We’ve been open since 1979,” Braswell said. “My dad turned 91 this year and started the business in 1979 as a hobby. He was in the roller skating distributorship business. He would sell roller skating supplies, but video games killed the skating business.

“Fortunately, he got into the pawn business, and that’s provided well for us. It gave me a soft landing spot when I found out I wasn’t a good accountant.”

Braswell said he is excited the company has a home in Conway.

“I’ve got family here and Conway has been good to us, so we kind of wanted to be a good neighbor here. If there’s anything we can do, we would love to help out.”
