Hospital, church team up to offer free educational event

People can learn more about their health and taste a vegan meal during a free community event next month, Dinner with Doctors.

Seventh-Day Adventist Church teamed up with Conway Regional Health System to host the event, which will be Feb. 9 in the Conway Regional Auditorium.

In order to attend, guests must RSVP by calling 501-764-8625.

From 4-6 p.m., there will be an open house where participants will have the opportunity to have a one-on-one chat with doctors, nurse practitioners and other health care workers.

Then, doctors from the church will discuss health topics such as diabetes, blood pressure and cholesterol while attendees are treated to a vegan dinner from 6-8 p.m.

“People can learn about healthier choices to prevent diabetes and [other health problems],” Dr. Annette Anderson said.
