With weather closing down much of Faulkner County on Friday, a Conway doctor’s motion hearing is set to be rescheduled.
Robert Rook, 61, who is currently facing sexual assault allegations, was set to appear in Faulkner County Circuit Court for a motion hearing.
Rook, who is currently free on a $225,000 bond, currently faces 13 counts each of rape and second-degree sexual assault and one count of third-degree sexual assault.
Prosecuting Attorney Cody Hiland said the Faulkner County Justice Building, where circuit court hearings are held, closes during inclement weather.
“The courts close anytime the county closes for inclement weather,” Hiland said. “Any hearings scheduled for today [Friday] will need to be rescheduled.”
Rook was initially charged with three counts each of rape and second-degree sexual assault in June.
Jason Barrett, special prosecutor, filed 21 additional charges Sept. 22 following an extended investigation.
As of press time Friday, a new date for Rook’s motion hearing had not yet been set.
