Hometown: Ahh, home is where you hang your hat, right? I was a military kid growing up, so for me, home is where the people you love are. I’m from the Seattle area but have lived in Conway since 1998 and my family lives here...so I’d say I’m probably an Arkansan by transplant.
Years in Industry/ Years at LCD: 10.5 years in the industry, 7 at the LCD.
Favorite Movie: All time favorite is Gone With the Wind. Not because I like slavery or the struggle that America went through during that time, but because I love recalling the days of hoop skirts, tea on the porch and chivalrous men who treated ladies as they should be treated. Strong seconds would be The Blind Side, The Help and The Chronicles of Narnia.
Interesting Fact: I’ve traveled back in time. Ha ha ha! Now wait, before you shake your head, let me explain. As a child, we lived in Bahrain (Middle East) for a time. One year, we woke up on Christmas morning and had Christmas with the family and that evening we boarded a plane headed to Hawaii to visit friends for the holiday. During the night, we crossed the International Date Line and landed on Christmas morning in Hawaii and celebrated it again with friends. That was pretty neat.
If someone made a movie about your life who would play you: Nia Vardalos
Favorite part of Industry: How this industry touches people from all walks of life. I talk to a wide variety of people each day. One minute I may be talking to a stay-at-home mom with kids running around in the background and the next minute I may be talking to the president of a major corporation. The news industry reaches people of all ages and varieties. It doesn’t matter how old or young you are, how rich or poor you may be, everybody wants to know what’s going on in the world around them. And that’s where we come in.
