Local students receive SAU scholarships

MAGNOLIA — Southern Arkansas University has awarded scholarships for the 2013-14 academic year to the following local students:

Lauren Kohut, of Enola, is a recent graduate of Mount Vernon-Enola High School and has been awarded an achievement scholarship from SAU. This scholarship includes $1,000 per semester and has a four-year value of $8,000. Kohut is the daughter of Daryl and Deanna Belote.

Emily Lock, of Greenbrier, is a recent graduate of Greenbrier High School, and has been awarded a Blue and Gold scholarship from SAU. This scholarship includes $2,550 per semester and has a four-year value of $20,400. Lock is the daughter of Todd Lock and Laura Lock.

Katie-Marie McClure, of Enola, is a recent graduate of Mount Vernon-Enola High School, and has been awarded an achievement scholarship from SAU. This scholarship includes $1,000 per semester and has a four-year value of $8,000. McClure is the daughter of Zeb McClure and Aundrea Tackett.

Taylor McNeel, of Vilonia, is a recent graduate from Vilonia High School, and has been awarded a university scholarship from SAU. This scholarship includes $4,500 per semester and has a four-year value of $36,000. McNeel is the daughter of John and Laura McNeel.

Jessica Parker, of Greenbrier, is a recent graduate of Greenbrier High School, and has been awarded an achievement scholarship from SAU. This scholarship includes $1,000 per semester and has a four-year value of $8,000. Parker is the daughter of Jerry Parker and Gina Fiddler.

Erin Richards, of Vilonia, is a recent graduate of Vilonia High, and has been awarded a blue and gold scholarship from SAU. This scholarship includes $2,550 per semester and has a four-year value of $20,400. Richards is the daughter of Shannon Skouras.

Colton Wood, of Vilonia, is a recent graduate of Vilonia High School, and has been awarded an achievement scholarship from SAU. This scholarship includes $1,000 per semester and has a four-year value of $8,000. Wood is the son of David and DeAnn Wood.

Southern Arkansas University is a quality, comprehensive regional university located in Magnolia. Founded in 1909, the University offers degrees on the undergraduate and graduate levels.
