I expect one in the 5+ magnitutdes soon. These are likely precursors, the fault line is obviously moving.
i believe most of, if not all
i believe most of, if not all of the small quakes are due to the gas wells being drilled. but this may cause a bigger quake sooner.
Cause of local earthquakes
At this point, I have no idea what's causing these minor quakes, but we are working on a story and graphic for tomorrow's print edition that will try to shed some light on this subject.
It is interesting to look at the graphic, which shows where the quakes have been in relation to existing natural gas wells in the area.
Could just be coincidence.
