I hear whispers on the wind that a Sam’s Wholesale Club in Conway may be closer to reality than I suspected. If you’ve been following, I’ve already told you that the Walmart folks are quite assuredly looking for a place in Conway to put a Sam’s Club. Here’s the latest.
Rumor has it there are plans, drawings, renderings, and what-have-you being looked at, presumably for a specific site in Conway. Do I know if the site is at the former location of the sale barn? No, I do not know that. Would I be surprised if it turns out that way? No, not at all.
If I were someone terribly interested in the future of a Sam’s Club in Conway, here’s what I would be on the lookout for. First, never underestimate the ability of a construction project to end up in front of the city council. Whether it’s for a rezoning or one of a thousand planning variances, it always seems to happen. If that doesn’t happen, one day there might just be a bunch of heavy equipment and a big sign that says “Coming Soon!”
There’s your advice on being the first to know. Good luck. It’s a tough job.
I checked out Bean Me Up, Latte last week, and it gets a thumbs up from me for good food and friendly service.
Located at the back of Serendipity Sisters, the café has a warm atmosphere from all the surrounding décor, and you can shop while you wait for your food. I have a few foods that I use to judge the quality of any restaurant and among them is chicken salad. So when I heard they had chicken salad sandwiches, I ordered one on a croissant. It was delicious. The whole time I was eating it, I was staring at some amazing-looking cakes in the bakery case. Sometime I will have to go back for dessert.
Christmas is near
One more week until Christmas! Remember, this is my panic-free countdown, so keep calm. I’m cheering you on if you’ve done anything at all to get ready for your holiday celebration and, if not, then I offer you some needed encouragement. You can do it.
This time next week we should be ready to roll, right? Presents purchased (maybe even wrapped), menu planned, grocery list made (maybe even partially shopped). Just one more big effort this week and then the fun can begin. Best wishes for conquering the last few days!
