But I enjoy watching Tiger Woods play golf.
Don't care what he does in his life. Just care what he does on a golf course, and, man, can he do some things on a course.
He won for the third time this year this past weekend, playing just solidly enough to outlast Bo Van Pelt.
Question is: Does he still have the skills to outlast 150 of the best players in the world to win a major? Two more chances to find out this year.
This months British Open might be his best chance.

..is much like trying to discuss Dennis Rodman from a basketball only perspective.
At any rate, let's give it go.
Woods still looks like he is very far away from having his game in shape for a major. His swing still looks very mechanical as if he is still training his muscle memory to reproduce the swing repeatedly and under pressure. If we get a usual English summer day (horizontal rain, wind at a gentle 30 mph or better), I don't see Woods swing holding up. It will be fun to watch the Open as always though...
Only 2 American winners in recent history at this venue (Lehman in '96 and Duval in '01) and I had forgotten that Seve won both of his Open championships here and made his famous birdie from the parking lot.
While we're looking forward to the Open Rick, do you recall Ian Woosnam's rendezvous with fame at Royal Lytham in 2001?
Couldn't agree more
that he doesn't look like he can beat a leaderboard of top golfers;
i don't recall what happened to Woosnam; remind me, please;
Woosnam was in contention in 2001.....
...as he teed off in the final round. I believe the first hole was playing very long that day (remember it is a par 3) and Woosnam hit a wood off the tee. Hits a fantastic ball to within a few feet, turns to give his caddy the club only to hear the infamous words "you aren't going to like this...."
Woosnam's caddy had 15 clubs in the bag.,,,,,
Ouch.
from wiki
In the late 1990s, his form began to fade, but he nearly made a spectacular comeback at The Open Championship in 2001, when he finished third despite suffering a two-stroke penalty for starting the final round with 15 clubs in his bag instead of the allowable maximum of 14. While his caddie, Miles Byrne, was responsible for this error, Woosnam surprisingly decided not to fire him stating: "It is the biggest mistake he will make in his life. He won't do it again. He's a good caddie. I am not going to sack him. He's a good lad."[5] Ironically, he did fire his caddie two weeks later when, after a night drinking on the town, he failed to turn up to tee-time.[6] That same year, Woosnam became the first player to capture the World Match Play Championship in three different decades.[7]
ouch
is close to what he said, i imagine
I agree, Rick
Let's watch an O.J. Simpson movie marathon sometime...
He's the best golfer to ever play the game
Period.
He could cheat one thousand times (he may already have) and it won't change his greatness as a golfer.
If his knee holds up he could play the game at the highest level for at least ten more years. There is no one that will convince me he won't get another major in that time. We he get one this year? Probably not, but he is leading the Fedex Cup standings.
The sooner we quit acting like athletes are more than just athletes, the better. They aren't paid to be role models. They are paid to win. Tiger wins.
Who is ready for the Ryder Cup?
Who is ready for the Ryder Cup??.........this guy
And Chubbs
It would be nice if Woods was ready for the Ryder Cup .....
...for a change.
And by the way, Nicklaus is still the greatest ..... by far ..... over Woods
