We don't exactly rough it at deer camp the way we used to. Running water, electricity and even a few TV channels (when Uncle Bill isn't here to crank up his satellite) are a few creature comforts that make the experience a bit more enjoyable.
It happened that tonight's viewing lineup included a program on the history of Hot Springs. More to the point, the show focused on the gambling and corruption that seemed incredibly out in the open.
The show got me to thinking about what might have been for Hot Springs. Arkansas has a history of missing out on the next big thing, and Hot Springs might be another example of that trend.
