To recap Saturday's lovely day of National Guard duty — half a day in the pouring rain.
Thought Sunday would be equally fun. I was right. However, instead of another half-day on the weapons qualification range, I had another assignment.
The Guard and University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences had a joint emergency preparedness exercise that involved moving a few dozen "casualties" from Carlisle's airport to the hospital by air ambulance. So, I spent a few hours taking photos and gathering information at the airport. Two problems. One, it was hot and muggy. Two, because of the military aircraft, the airport was a "flightline," and you don't wear headgear on a flightline.
My ears are still burning.
