Finally made it to the new Cowboys (At&T) Stadium over the weekend to see the Cowboys v. Broncos game.
Yes, it was incredible. No, I'm not disappointed the Cowboys lost. Why? Because it was an awesome game and Manning is the quarterback of the decade. He's probably going to the Super Bowl. So, I'm dealing with all of that.
What a game to see! The stadium is wow - the sliding glass doors (the largest on the planet) and the ceiling opening - I think I heard angels singing. The weather was perfect and a breeze was blowing through the end zones.
Glance down to see players stretching on the field, some wearing headphones, looking like guys over at UCA warming up for a run. That is, until you see them start to move and you know instantly that you're watching professional athletes. Here comes a guy in a backwards hat, could it be? Is it? Do you think? It's Romo. Just out playing catch and laughing around with Dez Bryant. Dez Bryant. In person, the speed of Romo's release and Dez's catch is incredibly fast. That's something you don't see on TV.
Anyway, just taking it all in. Trying to scale it down and make it fit into something that makes sense to me. The stadium is just fabulous and makes the old stadium seem really decrepit and sad. Every football fan will appreciate it. Emmitt was there because the halftime show was dedicated to breast cancer awareness and he lost his mother in law to the disease. Yes, it would've been better if Troy had been there and, fine, it would've been better if we'd won but we held the Broncos til the last minute, ok, that's pretty outstanding.
