Happy 105th anniversary to the Log Cabin Democrat!
Since September 14, 1908 the Log Cabin Democrat has published a daily newspaper. The Log Cabin began in 1879 by a man named Underhill. About 15 years into the newspaper business he decided it wasn't his calling so while fishing on a creek bank he and a sawmill owner named Frank Robins shook hands and swapped businesses. Even trade, handshake and a smile.
For the last 38,325 days (plus or minus a few years when the Log Cabin published six days a week) the Log Cabin has delivered Conway and Faulkner County's news to its readers.
Pick up a copy of this Sunday's Log Cabin Democrat for a collection of some of our best front pages from over the years from a few of days with historical significance locally and nationally. I think you'll enjoy seeing them.
Plus, who are the up and coming political leaders in Conway? We're keeping a close eye on who may be our next elected officials and who's interested in the job. Then we'll ask you the most important question, "Who can lead Conway?" All this and more in the Sunday, Sept. 15th (our 38,326th edition) of the Log Cabin Democrat.
