I was duped by the dope using dope.
Lance Armstrong had me fooled. I'll be watching the OWN network tonight. I've been in this position before and I know how it's gonna feel. I've been cheated. Been mistreated. Wheeeeen will I I be loved?
Bill Clinton, Jimmy Swaggart, Bobby Petrino, Mark McGwire
Positions of power where you think you're bigger than your job, your God, your sport, your team, your country...and you won't get caught.
I would've bet money that he was being persecuted unfairly. Where there's smoke, there's fire -- another hard lesson.
Even the Manti Te'o girlfriend drama isn't distracting me from how disappointed I am in Lance Armstrong. So very sad and a good reminder that world class athletes are just people too.

Lance never wavied his finger at me and lie about having sex (orally or otherwise with that women) or did he hire his girlfriend illegally to work for the state.
Since I never bought a Live Strong wussyband and never pitched in Jimmy plate I don't have a dog in that hunt.
If anything my hat is off to him just like all the schools in the Ole SWC if you ain't cheatN you ain't tryN. To have won that many races and the "TOUR" that may times and NOT fail a drug screen. Then you are good.
Regardless with or without PEDs to complete a Tour de France it is like anyone that has done a full marathon to finish one is a great thing to beat everyone else doing it is an outstanding thing.
OH I left out baseball and PEDs I don't care MLB know about it and it was not prohibited at the time so Barry, Mark, Sammy Wade and the rest more power to you and I hope you don't have health problems later like other have had.
Except for the fact
He sued and professionally crushed all that rightfully claimed they knew he used PED's. So no, it wasn't outstanding, he wasn't doing what he had to. He was being a self righteous cowardly dick. That's it.
Even his show last night was only given because the statute of limitations has run out. This is calculated.
You take your hat off to some questionable people.
agreed
Confessing AFTER you're caught is just a bit late to the party.
PEDs
That was good ole-fashioned Kenny Hatfield-punch-em-in-the-ribs-and-really-hurt-em-after-you-tackle-them kinda football. I miss that.
It's not the doing the drugs and cheating the system and finding loopholes that bothers me as much as it's the denial, denial, denial... I'm mad that you keep making these accusations... and then finally...Ok I did it.... I'm not sorry I did it but I'm sorry that I got caught press conferences.
I prefer
PEZ to PEDs.
Yeah, but
To win the Tour even once requires fierce, very fierce, determination. And just to be clear you could fill any one of us up with whatever drugs you feel appropriate and we could not even hand with the peleton (the pack) in a race.
Any leg of the Tour de France would be a monumental achievement for an amateur cyclist just to complete: The hills, the distances, just a massive undertaking. To do it days on end ... well again, one has to be fiercely, madly, determined, and to win the thing even more so. It's a goal you have to set from years out.
And obviously the guy had the drive, that fierce focus so often seen in athletes at the top of their game. He trained like crazy and took the drugs to get him that extra mile.
He wouldn't have taken those drugs were the governing authority not complicit in him doing so. Which is to say the rule-makers were corruptible, and the athlete, knowing this, took advantage of it.
Hey, just to be clear, people have been taking drugs to complete the door from day one (it was originally felt that cigarettes and brandy were required to maintain performance for the length of the event). Lance was participating in a grand tradition. (They used to take a form of speed/cold medicine, to open the airways, until a Brit champ died in the 60s from excess.)
So yeah, he took things to help his body survive the race. He said he didn't. He had the kind of determination it takes to want to win the thing, and "win the thing" puts one in a heady environment.
Lance is a monster of our own making.
"Lance is a monster of our own making"
So Lance cheated because he cared more and he had more desire.
Got it.
And bank robbers rob because they have more desire to earn more.
what?
"He wouldn't have taken those drugs were the governing authority not complicit in him doing so. "
The governing authority goes to great lengths to test the heck out of these guys to keep them off drugs. This dip just went to extraordinary lenghts to cheat the system including blood transfusions! He's a lying, cheating P.O.S. that deserves nothing but shame. I feel sorry for all the poor cyclists out there that actually followed the rules and probably never finished better than the middle of the pack because of all these dirt bags that cheated.
Well the UCI was in on it
He tested positive at the Tour de Suisse years and years ago. The UCI buried it.
I'd be careful feeling sorry for the clean peloton. That was pretty much non-existent.
yeah
Lance was the best of the cheaters, congrats dude.
