Is there any better combination than Hollywood and politics? Throw in televangelism and the right person could easily dabble in all three, and no, Jessica Hahn wasn't that person.
Before the Governator, before Jane Fonda's activism, before Ronald Reagan and Bonzo, and before Marilyn sang 'Happy Birthday, Mr. President', movie stars have been influencing our vote, whether we like it or not.
It's just too big of a leap for me. I like George Clooney. He's got a great smile and with the right lighting -wow- forget Christian Grey but his fundraising and glad handing for the Democrats and Darfur involvement have very little to do with how I vote. Of course, if not for GC, I most likely wouldn't know Darfur from Da Nang.
Two disturbing facts out of this week's political news that's sure to shake the foundations of democracy and rattle both the Republican and Democrat bases....Lindsey Lohan endorsed Mitt Romney and Honey Boo Boo is throwing her support behind President Obama leaving both parties surely to wonder where they went wrong.
One thing is certain, I look forward to suggesting to the newsroom that the Nov. 7 front page headline of the Log Cabin reads: Blame it on Honey Boo Boo.
