The intersection at Oak and Ingram streets looked like the 4th of July but it was just an average Sunday night. Lights from fire trucks, police cars, ambulances, wreckers added to the colors on our local main drag.
Sunday night a car crashed into the drive thru menu sign at Church's Chicken. Add that one to the long list of accidents at that intersection. Stand inside DeBoard Electronics for a length of time and you're bound to hear the sounds of squealing breaks followed by a deafening crash.
Some intersections need 'approach with caution' warning signs. Either speed, traffic volume, blind spots, road conditions or the 'Mayhem man' are creating intersections that I want to avoid. Oddly, none of those intersections have roundabouts.
Top of my list: Oak & Harkrider. Then Oak & Ingram, (Conway Commons) Elsinger Blvd. & East Oak, Conway Towne Center & Hwy. 65, Washington Ave. & North Donaghey (Hwy. 365) and because of sheer volume Prince & Salem and Dave Ward Dr. & Donaghey.

This is why Oak Street is so full of potholes. Speed control.
