Re-fried fried rice

There is such a thing as too much fried rice.


When it comes to local Chinese cuisine, Jade China really hits the spot for me. The little green (jade colored) building beside Century 21 on Harkrider takes your order and steams it or woks it or deep fries it on the spot. No battling a buffet. I don't know how they determine portion sizes. I really don't know what happens in the kitchen at all; food seems to go down easier when kitchen details remain hidden.


But the amount of fried rice you get in a single order is overwhelming. There must be six cups of rice and a quarter cup of chopped vegetables in their takeout container. They won't let you get half orders; I asked. I'm not one to quickly throw things away (or compost them, Courtney) and I'm now on my fourth day of leftover fried rice.


How many times can you re-fry fried rice before it becomes something that no longer resembles the original dish?
