I heard this morning that Tom Brady is skipping the NFL Pro Bowl. No reason was given, so I will assume it is not due to injury. There was a time when being voted to the Pro Bowl was a big deal to players. It was an honor to be selected by your peers and fans that recognized your talent as a player.
Now players just choose to play or not with no regard to the people who voted them in. If it were not for the fans, none of them would be making the rediculous salaries they make to play nothing more than a game.
Just a couple months ago, the NBA's Dallas Mavericks was criticized and fined because the coach rested a few of the top players on the team. I think the NFL should do the same thing to players who just say, I'm not going to the Pro Bowl. Playing in that year's Super Bowl and injury should be the only exclusion, and the fine should be porportionable to thier salaries.
It is time these primadonna's start honoring those who selected them and quit being the spoiled brats they have come to be.

I have always watched this game even tho there is not much contact. It needs to get back to what it used to be. Back when Dick Butkus made you feel why he was selected to go.
Patriots
Are the biggest crybabies in sports.
They're not so good without their cameraman.

And
NFL Concussions in 2011
"Despite claims of tighter safety regulations and several lawsuits, the NFL football concussion statistics continue to climb with another 162 number of head injuries reported last year. That roughly sums up to an average of 10.80 concussions occurring every week and that there is a 72% chance of a concussion injury occurring at every NFL game.
...
the NFL failed to guarantee the safety for any of the players on the field, as there still exists a 50-50 chance of you being injured on the head."
so, you're saying
The Patriots are the only team to suffer concussions?
No one is so desperately in need of a shipload of logic.

They play the game knowing
They play the game knowing the risks.
Like I said, if the player is not in the Super Bowl and is not injured they should be at the Pro Bowl or be fined heavily for skipping it. If your fans and your peers high opinons of you mean nothing, then why play?
Some maynot call it a sport, and it may not be, but you will never see a NASCAR driver miss their All-Star event. You rarely hear of baseball players just skipping the All-Star game.
These player owe it to their sport and most importanly their fans to be at the game. They would not be making that kind of money without the fan.
