If you need a place to go deer hunting this season, a possibility is to buy one of the leftover wildlife management area permits from the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission.
For $10 you get a permit for a specified WMA and for a specified season -- archery, muzzle-loader or modern gun. They go on sale Monday, Sept. 10, online.
Go to www.agfc.com, and links will take you to a list of the WMAs with available permits and the number for each WMA. Some of these are areas with good deer prospects. Others are just so-so.
Check 'em out. You may want to give some thought to Moro Big Pine down in south Arkansas. It's got plentiful deer and a large number of permits available.
