The video clip of Little Rock eStem student Leonard Cooper will probably be shown for some time as one of the great game show moments.
Cooper is the teen Jeopardy champion. The cool way he claimed his prize is unforgettable and has already been shown on several national news programs.
Cooper risked a bundle on a daily double to give himself a lead going into Final Jeopardy. The question was, ”On June 6, 1944 he said, "The eyes of the world are upon you.”
“Now we go to Leonard Cooper, he’s looking pretty happy,” host Alex Trebek said after both of his competitors got the question wrong. “Why? Did he come up with Ike? Dwight David Eisenhower?”
In coming up with one of the greatest Jeopardy answers ever, Cooper smiled and revealed that he wrote, ”Who is some guy in Normandy, but I just won $75,000!”
After he saw the show, a friend said he had a similar feeling when Scotty Thurman hit the 3-pointer against Duke to give the Arkansas Razorbacks the 1994 NCAA basketball championship.
Another friend noted that Leonard Cooper is the combination of the first names of two of the main characters on the nerdy comedy "The Big Bang Theory."
$75K. That's a big bang for the buck.
