Foaled, no iron Monopoly and Meow!

Back | Next

In the last day, there have been namings, comings and goings.

The naming relates to the Budweiser Clydesdale Super Bowl commercial, which was a universal fan favorite. From a contest in social media, the new Clydesdale foal, featured at 7 months in the ad, has been named "Hope."

Now, say your token goodbyes to the iron. By a social media vote, the iron will no longer be a piece in the Monopoly game. With the advent of wrinkle-free, no-iron clothing, it was inevitable.

Drum roll. The new Monopoly piece, also by popular vote, is the cat.

Purr-fect, some will say. Scat, others will say.

No word on whether the Community Chest will be replaced by a box of kitty litter.

The Iron

"With the advent of wrinkle-free, no-iron clothing, it was inevitable." If we have wrinkle-free, no-iron clothing, how come I spend so much time at the ironing board wielding both iron and spray starch can?

YES

But you are now wielding an eletric iron with steam spray rather than the old heat up by the fireplace literally made of iron iron.

Hmm

I don't see how a majority of Monopoly players would have voted for the new character to be a cat. Those minorities are at it again! Someone call Jason Rapert to come save us from them!
