Even though I did not know him personally, the news that KTHV news anchor Matt Turner was killed in an automobile accident Saturday night hit hard.

All of us in the media business are in one giant fraternity.

Colleagues in this business say Turner, who has worked in several media outlets throughout Arkansas, was one of the best journalists they've ever worked with. One of the first stops on his career was a correspondent for Hooten's Arkansas football as a student at Ouachita Baptist University. Chris and Chad Hooten were impressed with him an early age.

Such raves and remorse are originating throughout the media community.

What's sobering to me is I, along with several people connected with UCA, traveled that same stretch of road last week returning from the Stephen F. Austin football game under rainy conditions.
