The pointed response by Wisconsin TV anchorwoman Jennifer Livingston to an individual's criticism that she is too obese and sets the wrong example has become a viral hit.
She admitted to being overweight. But that's not to say she's not trying to do something about it.
She has participated recently in triathlons and 5Ks and 10Ks.
According to Livingston's husband, she has a thyroid condition that makes it more difficult to lose weight.
It seems that it's a disgusting trend nowadays to call people fat in Internet or digital form. That can lead to children doing the same thing to their counterparts and adults. And they have. One of the most damaging things to a person's self image, particularly at a young age, is to call them fat. It's a terrible aspect of bullying.
Particularly when there's another piece of the puzzle.
Livingston called the person out. You go girl.

Add commentInteresting fact: Her brother
Interesting fact: Her brother is actor, Ron Livingston. With your headline, it makes me think of the Jump to Conclusions mat in his movie Office Space.
Small world!
So did she keep her name when she got married? I would assume that was the case if her brother's name is Livingston and she still has the same name now that she is married. Either that or she married someone named Livingston as well.
well
I'm a fan of plus-sized women, my wife is one.
But I really didn't think the viewer email was "bullying" so much as just insensitive.
I did like her response, however.
You should hear what some mothers say to their daughters about their weight. I digress.
What mothers say to their daughters....
I have heard them. It makes me sad.
I Agree
Back in the day when I was too broke to afford another car.
I rode a bicycle from Forest Lake Estates (Dave Ward Wal-Mart) to Farris Rd to College back to Country Club (the only rd then was gravel). Worked 10 hrs pushing a shovel ETC rode home got cleaned up and rode back to Oak St Korgers parking lot to hang out several night a week.
And people thought I was fat but not too many people were stupid enough to say it to my face.
Sarah. That Jump to
Sarah. That Jump to Conclusions is interesting. I didn't know about her brother until Thursday morning. I wonder. I think it was more a case of insensitivity, which is part of the roots of bullying
