It amazes me the power of social media to connect people — and even animals — who would not normally connect.
A real neat success story began last weekend. My wife, Beverly, was looking at a Facebook post from a friend and former co-worker and said, "Ahhh, look at this cute Husky puppy that Dee is trying to find a home for."
I looked up and said, "Did you say, Husky?"
Just a day or so earlier, I had read a post by a co-worker who was looking for a Husky puppy to adopt.
My wife's friend is an Assisi-type animal lover who seems to be constantly taking in creatures and either keeping them or find them the "right" home. In this case, a friend of hers had come into possession of a Husky puppy that she didn't want to keep longterm but wanted to make sure it had a good home saying, "he's too sweet to end up in a puppy mill."
I asked Amber, one of my colleagues at the Cabin, if she was still looking for a Husky. In the meantime, my wife messaged Dee on Facebook noting that I had a possible prospect. My wife emailed me the basic contact informatioin and I passed that along.
It led to a canine meet-and-greet and it was a match.
"Win, win," my wife's friend messaged her.
I haven't seen or talked to Dee in years. I've never met her friend who had the dog. Yet, I knew where to find the other piece of the puzzle.
Incredible connection, an upside to social media.
Matchmaking success with a puppy. We'll hold off awhile on trying this with humans.

Got a point. There's a couple of other site names that come to mine but I think they would be blanked out by our security system.
