Bears managed another nickel-and-dime drive, 68 yards, to a touchdown late in the third quarter to draw within 21-20.
The Lumberjacks responded with a 73-yard drive that got weird on the goal line. SFA had first and goal inside the 1. The Lumberjacks sent in their backup quarterback, who is 6-4, for two sneaks that went nowhere. UCA's Anthony Gambles knocked away a pass attempt in the end zone.
SFA then had a false start inches on the goal line, which brought it back to the 6. UCA was then offside and SFA kicked a field goal that amounted to an extra point that pushed its lead to 24-20.
UCA was held and Eddie Carmona was sent in to punt. He was slow getting it off, SFA blocked it and recovered on the 1 and scored 1 play later. UCA blocked the extra point but the Bears' kicking game has punt them in a deep hole, trailing 30-20 with 12:50 left.
