Exercise

Excess weight, heart health, diabetes, cholesterol levels, and blood pressure are all good reasons to have some sort of exercise program, whether we really want to or not. The older we are, the more important is the exercise. Do you exercise on a regular basis? If so, what do you do? Are you pleased with the results? I walk 50 minutes a day most mornings, although some days I really have to force myself to do it. I started last spring and my blood pressure and cholesterol levels are much improved because of it.

I need to do this!

Just turned 40 last week, and I KNOW I need to be more attentive to my health. I play tennis, but not every day. I've tried to start regular exercise routines to supplement my tennis, but I can't seem to keep them going. There oughtta be a law...

we all need to do this

my husband and i are in our mid 50's. he wants to lose 6 lbs and i NEED to lose 75 lbs. we have started P90X. we have friends and family who have had great success with this. We want to be around to see our grandchildren grow up. I lost 85 lbs in 2006 with a diet program. but there was no long term exercise plan with it and i gained back 75 lbs. I have been at my current weight for 18 months. I know i have to increase my activity to lose weight and keep active to maintain the loss. We really like P90X because it keeps things fresh and you don't get bored with the routines. We all need to find something that works for us and keeps us physically involved as we age!! I am not telling others to do what we are; just encouraging them to DO SOMETHING!!!! I live 6 miles east of Conway and wish there was a safe bike route for me to go to town and grocery shop. It is not even safe around my neighborhood to ride!

I try and hit the gym 3 times a week but I really have to force myself to go. It's just lack of motivation that is my downfall but once I'm there I'm cool. I wish I was the type of person that loved it but that just ain't me ! :-)
