Bears picked 4th in SLC preseason polls

LAKE CHARLES, La. — The University of Central Arkansas is picked fourth in the Southland Conference preseason football polls by both the coaches and sports information directors.

The preseason rankings were released Wednesday as part of Southland Conferencee Media Day.

Defending champion Southeastern Louisiana, 7-0 in conference last season, is the favorite in both polls. McNeese State is picked second and Sam Houston State third in both polls.

Stephen F. Austin, in its first season under former UCA coach Clint Conque, is picked sixth by both the coaches and SID's.
