The Liberty Fire Department responds to fires and emergency situations, but they also do community service. Suzonne Hopkins serves as the fire chief directing the 20-25 fire fighters and emergency responders on the department.

The Vilonia Fire Department is the highest trained volunteer fire department in the state, said assistant chief K.C. Williams. "It's because of his (Chief Keith Hillman's) passion, drive and motivation," Williams said.

The Saltillo Fire Department has about 14 members on the roll, including Chief Bill Reed. "There are no paid positions," he added. "Some pay for runs, we don't do that." Reed began volunteering at the department in the mid- to late-80s.
