The University of Central Arkansas Horn Club presents The Four Hornsmen of the Apocalypse as guest artists on Sunday, Sept. 7, for a featured concert at 7:30 p.m.
On Sunday, Sept. 7, the schedule includes a 2 p.m. session with the Four Hornsmen which will cover such topics as entrepreneurship as an artist and working in chamber music.
From 4:30-6 p.m. all horn players are invited to participate in a Horn Ensemble Reading Session where some of the repertoire for larger groups of horns will be explored.
Horn players are encouraged to bring their instruments.
All events are open to the public at no charge, and take place in the Snow Fine Arts Center Recital Hall.
On-site registration is encouraged between 1:30-2 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 7.
The group is a quartet of distinguished hornists who have developed a cult following amongst French horn players and brass musicians.
They have been featured artists at many universities and regional horn workshops and gave multiple performances at the 2013 International Horn Symposium.
Their repertoire ranges from classical to contemporary, including jazz and Broadway, and their concerts are always infused with humor.
The Four Hornsmen will remain in Conway on Monday, Sept. 8, to work with UCA brass students in classes and lessons.
Their stop at UCA is part of a fall tour, taking the group through Texas, Arkansas, Illinois and Kansas.
Funding for the UCA visit has been made possible by the Student Government Association.
