The Central Baptist College library will sponsor an author event to kick off ArtsFest, an annual event hosted by Conway’s Alliance for the Arts.
Author Leigh McLeroy will be the guest author and speaker beginning at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 1 in the CBC Burgess Auditorium.
Leigh McLeroy writes and speaks with a passion for God and a keen eye for His presence in everyday life.
As an author, blogger, conference speaker and Bible teacher, McLeroy fully engages in the moment, telling the truth, but “telling it slant” and sharing the reality of God’s love and grace in a way that beckons, woos, resonates and compels.
A former corporate marketing executive and mega-church staffer, McLeroy now devotes the majority of her time to writing, speaking and collaborating on various creative projects.
“I want to be available to go where God calls and to do what God wants done. The assignment will look a little different for me every day, but I celebrate the beautiful uncertainty of this Christ, following the journey called life,” she said.
At her home base in Houston, Texas, McLeroy can be found teaching in her inner-city church, City of Refuge Evangelical Presbyterian, working on one of her books, or writing Wednesday words, a weekly e-devotional she launched six years ago that she says “has taken on a life of its own.”
Her books include Moments for Singers, The Beautiful Ache, The Sacred Ordinary and Treasured. The event is free and open to the public. McLeroy will also be available for a signing concluding the event.
