The students of St. Joseph High School plan a Veterans Day Service in the Parish Hall at 9 a.m. Friday, Nov. 9.
This service is to honor all veterans who served in the military — past and present. All veterans and their families are invited to attend.
The agenda will include: A presentation of the colors by members of Boy Scout Troop 78, patriotic music by the Davanzo ensemble, a recitation of “In Flanders Fields” that speaks to the symbolism of red poppies that grew on foreign battlefields during World War I, a reading of “Sarah’s Letter,” which deals with a Civil War soldier writing home to his wife, not knowing if he’ll see her again, and a flag folding ceremony.
Refreshments will be served by the National Junior Honor Society.
