The men of Kappa Sigma Fraternity at the University of Central Arkansas raised $3,400 for the Fisher House Foundation and are continuing to raise money until the day of their annual Game Ball Relay on Nov. 3.
Before UCA’s homecoming game, they will be running the game ball from the State Capital in Little Rock to Estes Stadium in Conway, an estimated 33 miles. Each fraternity brother will run a mile and hand the ball off to the next brother.
Kappa Sigma has asked businesses in the Maumelle, Conway and Little Rock areas to sponsor them to raise money. The money raised will be donated to the Fisher House Foundation as part of Kappa Sigma’s Military Heroes Campaign. The Fisher House Foundation was set up to provide wounded veterans and their families a free place to live while they get back on their feet.
The amount raised by Kappa Sigma is the most ever raised during the fraternity’s annual Game Ball Relay and will be presenting a check during the homecoming game.
State Sen. Jason Rapert, R-Conway, will be present at the game to issue a Senate Citation to the chapter for their hard work.
